It is important to note that Snout plans are not pet insurance.

Our plans are designed to make getting your pet the preventive care they need more convenient and affordable. Instead of large invoices once of twice per year, the cost of preventive care is spread evenly into monthly payments.

Conversely, pet insurance is coverage offered by specific insurance companies (not affiliated with Doug Fir Veterinary Care). These companies primarily offer coverage against sickness and injury.

Our veterinarians highly recommend pet insurance as early in your pet’s life as possible. It is best to start pet insurance when your pet is young and has no history of chronic conditions or illness (for example: allergies, chronic disease, or hip dysplasia). Although pets of any age can benefit from insurance coverage.

In the event that something happens to your pet that incurs a large cost, insurance can really come to the rescue!
